Description

Recreational lacrosse program serving youth in West Linn in grades 1 through 8 for the 2025 school year. Practices occur twice a week beginning in late Februaru/Early March with games weekly on Saturdays beginning in April and running through May.

Teams are based on grade bands with a team for our 1st/2nd grade youth, 3rd/4th grade youth, 5th/ 6th grade youth and 7th/8th grade youth. No experience is necessary at any of the grade levels. All players, new or returning are welcome.

Many returning players will notice an increase in fees for this season of lacrosse. Please be aware that WLWV school district has increased the field rental fees that all youth programs pay quite significantly this year. (284% increase over two years) which requires us to increase our fees in order to book fields in West Linn.

We desire all youth who want to play lacrosse to be able to access this sport. If cost is preventing you fro registering your player, please reach out to [email protected] to discuss scholarships.

Lacrosse First

There is a season for every sport and spring is lacrosse season.

Both Oregon Girls Lacrosse Association and USA Lacrosse support lacrosse players being multi-sport athletes. Field IQ, general athletics and mental resilience increase for youth involved in multiple sports.

West Linn Youth Girls Lacrosse also supports our lacrosse players being multi-sport athletes across the year. Increasingly though, lacrosse seems to be competing with sports like soccer, volleyball and basketball during the spring athletics season. We recognize that many of these sports are promoting year round play and practice.  Additionally, we realize that sometimes there are unavoidable scheduling conflicts.

On behalf of your player's teammates, the cohesion of the players, skill development and our coaching staff, we ask that you do all you can to minimize or eliminate these conflicts during lacrosse season. We ask that if you are registering for lacrosse this season, that lacrosse practice takes priority.

When conflicts arise that can't be moved, it is your responsibility to give your coach as much advance notice as possible.

We agree to put lacrosse first for the 2025 Recreational Season

Concussion Awareness Agreements

In an effort to educate all of our players and parents on the importance of injury awareness and treatment, we support a program centered on concussion and repetitive stress injury prevention. By reviewing and agreeing to this program and its references, you are releasing liability of West Linn Youth Girls Lacrosse Program for concussion or repetitive stress injuries sustained during the recreational lacrosse season.

CONCUSSION AWARENESS: We ask that all parents to take a few minutes and get educated about concussions and more importantly, how to recognize the signs, by following this link: http://www.preventingconcussions.org/

*Should your daughter suffer a concussion at any point during the season, you must provide a letter from your doctor to West Linn Youth Girls  Lacrosse Program Administrator, Alexis Hennessey, which clears her to return to play. NO EXCEPTIONS.
